throughout the whole fasting month of Ramadhan, three weeks to date, i've had to handle or witness 3 deaths...meaning there would be one per week.
it's quite tiring actually.
and the all the patient and relatives i encountered during these three weeks are all Muslims.
i dunno whether this is a message sent from God. if it is, then i don't understand the message.
first case was an icu case whereby the family wanted to bring the patient home to pass on. she was critical in the icu already but the daughter decided that perhaps her mum would pass on more peacefully at home, especially when surrounded by relatives. the daughter had some guilt issues which i managed to explore and resolve it with her before she left the hospital. in the end the patient passed away a day later upon reaching home and her relatives managed to be by her side.
2nd case was an A&E case. i didn't do much actually, just hang around and helped my colleagues do some running around.
3rd case happened just last friday. it was a big case. it was sad how the patient left this world. nonetheless, her children and grandchildren managed to see her for the last time. perhaps all along she was waiting for this very moment...? i felt that she put up a strong fight till the end.
deaths during Ramadhan...i wonder what is the implication? i did some googling and some websites mentioned that when someone passes on during Ramadhan, he/she is being saved from the punishment in the grave.
anybody has other points to share, please do and enlighten me :)
